This weekend we escaped the hustle and bustle of the city to the beauty and peace of the South Devon coastline. Gibel and I are very lucky as my parents live in South Devon, so we can get away for relaxing weekends when we possible.
The weekend was very family focused, Gibel’s Mum and Ambuya (Shona for Grandma) came with us to Devon. Ambuya has come over to England from Zimbabwe for 6 months to visit family, as well as seeing a bit of the UK at the same time. We made sure we packed in as many Devon highlights as possible, with a trip to Blackpool Sands Beach, a Devon Cream Tea in Dartmouth and a walk along the beach in Beesands. She loved the coastline and being outside, we walked for miles, which was quite tiring, but it was beautiful to be in the fresh sea air
My mum is an amazing cook, we were always fed yummy homemade food growing up, which is something I am definitely going to do when Baby G arrives. Over the weekend we were spoilt with cooked breakfasts, soup for lunch, roast lamb and beef stew for tea. Perfect!
What aspects of your upbringing do you want to pass down to your Baby? I’d love to hear your stories, leave a comment below and I will come back to you as soon as I can.
